Taylor Johnson, OTR/L

Thanks for being here, I’m Taylor

I started my practice as a pediatric occupational therapist knowing that I wanted to provide the highest quality evidence-based care to my clients. After growing up in Deerfield, Illinois I attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where I graduated (summa cum laude) with a degree in psychology. I made the move to St. Louis to pursue my masters in occupational therapy. I received my MSOT from Washington University in St. Louis in 2018. After graduation, I immediately began working in the outpatient pediatric setting serving children aged 0-21. My goal is to help my clients be as independent as possible in the daily activities that are most important to them and their families.

I have been trained in Handwriting Without Tears, DIRFloortime, Feeding Interventions, and Therapeutic Listening. I use a sensory-based approach that is play based. I enjoy integrating aspects of yoga, co-regulation techniques, sensory diets, and animal assisted therapy to create a comprehensive treatment plan.

I specialize in the evaluation and treatment of both neurotypical and neurodivergent clients with sensory processing difficulties, motor planning deficits, executive functioning difficulties and feeding challenges. My favorite part of working with the pediatric population is collaborating with the families to determine meaningful goals. I look forward to connecting with you and helping you navigate your child’s occupational therapy journey.

I could not be more grateful for the significant progress my son has made as a direct result of consistently seeing Taylor and working with Kylo! Taylor’s eagerness to work during a pandemic and dedication to my son have directly affected my son’s social-emotional development, improved his body awareness, and given him a sense of normalcy during a chaotic time. We are sincerely grateful for Taylor’s commitment to our son and for giving him structured, safe and fun occupational therapy!
